Foundry Training Trust is a charity designed to help the cast metals industry to improve the knowledge base working within it.
Founded when the National Foundry College, closed its accomodation facilities, the proceeds from the sale of the building were invested to provide anyone with a working interest in the cast metals industry with support in their goal of increasing their qualifications or knowledge.
A board of Trustees meet regularly to assess applications from both individuals and businesses for funding or training or learning opportunities.
These might be as diverse as a short course in metallurgy, a PhD in advanced ceramic materials or visiting an international congress and exhibition, any source of learning or knowledge enhancement is considered.
